People, people! Everyday we wake up and can rest assured that our BIGGEST problem has been taken care for us! We don't have to worry about eternity, or anything really, because Jesus has overcome sin and death for us! WHAT GLORIOUS NEWS!
This morning as I was running late to school after getting only a couple hours of sleep, I was listening to the Phil Wickham song "True Love". Read these lyrics:
Come close, listen to the story
About a love more faithful than the morning
The Father gave his only son just to save us
The Earth was shaking in the dark
All Creation felt the Father's broken heart
Tears were filling Heaven's Eyes
The day that true love died, the day that true love died
When Blood and water hit the ground
Walls we couldn't move came crashing down
Now we are freed and made alive
The day that TRUE LOVE died, the day that True Love died.
Search your heart you know you can't deny it
Come on, lose your life just so you can find it
The Father gave His only son, just to save us...
Now Jesus is ALIVE, Jesus is alive, Jesus is Alive... He rose again!
When Blood and water hit the ground
Walls we couldn't move came crashing down
Now we are freed and made alive
The day that TRUE LOVE died, the day that True Love died.
Isn't that an amazing song? (On Phil Wickham's album "Cannons")
But not only does he secure our future, he gives us peace and grace for the NOW!
This week was the last week of class before Finals. And for me, this was when all my art portfolio, sketchbook and papers we due. Now, the sketchbook is something we're suppose to be doing on our own to match what we're doing in class each week, and is suppose to have some 85 drawings and 16 journal entries in it by the end of the semester. Well, as of Sunday I had about 40 drawings to (by today), along with some other stuff due (A self-portrait, an art history paper, etc.). On Sunday the load of all I had to do finally hit me. I have to be the laziest person in the world to let my work build up on me (of course it made me feel better to know that only a few in my class even met the requirements of the sketchbook). I started getting overwhelmed and thinking there was no way I'd be able to do 40+ drawings in 4 days. So I prayed. I acknowledged my sin of laziness, I acknowledged my weakness and how I would not be able to do this on my own, and I asked for peace and strength to get everything done. So I started.
As I worked, and as the deadline got closer and closer, I am amazed to say that not ONCE did I feel stressed or anxious. Now that is TOTALLY God! Because left to myself, I'd be so stressing out that I'd probably losing time over it. Somehow, by God's grace alone, I was able to sumbit everything today, and I was just thanking God in my heart as I heard my fellow students complaining how they did not get done with everything. I am just so overwhelmed by God's grace this week. I so did not deserve it, yet, He is so faithful to provide!
On the subject of art class, today we were discussing the warning labels on these cans of Fixative Spray we use on our drawings (to hold the material on the paper, and to keep it from smearing). This spray is pretty toxic, and you have to go outside to spray it (believe me, I know from experience that it can give you a nasty headache if you inhail too much). SO my art professor, Matthew (who is one of the most hilarious men I have ever met), reads the warning label that went somthing like this "WARNING: It is known to the State of California that the inhailing of this can cause brain damage and birth defects." So Matthew goes on this hilarious spill about how it's dangerous in California, but perfectly safe - in fact the recommend the inhailing of it in FLorida! Haha. "Man, they must just be very fragile people in California because it says 'It is known to the State of California'" said Matthew. I was laughing so had. This led to a conversation about birth defects and why don't you ever hear of birth-enhancements. We talked about additional arms, heads, fingers, longer eye lashed and mutant powers. It was quite entertaining.
Ahhh, I love art people :-)
So this is pretty much what I looked like all week, Except usually my face would be even blacker than it is here.

And just for kicks, these are some of my favorite shoes, I added the decor, I call them my "Shoes of Emotion" :-P

"There's a bus up there" -me
"What did you say??" -alli
"There's a bus up ahead" -me
*alli starts dying laughing*
"ahhhh I thought you just randomely said 'God Bless America'" -alli
(This lead to a bunch of "God bless Afghanastan", "God bless the eskimos on Greenland", etc. And lot of laughter :-D)
